A longtime favorite in Oxford, Ohio - the Summer Music Festival - was such a blast that we’re continuing it into the month of September! Join in on the fun with Oxford's Fall Community Concerts, hosted every Thursday of September from 7:30 - 10:00 p.m. in Uptown park.
Each concert will include a different musical group, so whether you’re into inspirational, indie, or rock, there’s sure to be a variety for every music lover.
All concerts are hosted by Miami University student organizations. Here’s the lineup for the month:
Thursday, September 7: Premium Blend
Inspired by a wide variety of musical genres, Premium Blend performs anything from classical to hip-hop. Band members include: El Coats, Elmer Marchbank, Brian Smith, David Speed, Danielle Carter, Tiffany Bryant and Keisan Green. With the musical talents of these musicians, you’re in for some catchy music all night!
Thursday, September 14: Coastal Club and Modern Aquatic
Coastal Club, a rock n’ roll band from Cincinnati, Ohio, was formed in 2016 by four friends: Alex Hirlinger, Alex Mobley, Avery Benter and David McGuire. Come out and hear this group’s blending of indie rock and pop, a combination that is sure to have you dancing!
Following Coastal Club is Modern Aquatic, an indie rock band also from Cincinnati. Complete with five musicians, Modern Aquatic will take you back to the long days of summer with their hazy beach songs.
Thursday, September 21: Greek Week Bandstand
As part of Miami University Greek life’s “Greek Week,” campus fraternities and sororities will compete in a karaoke competition. Come cheer on your favorite chapters!
Thursday, September 28: Marlana Vanhoose
Marlana Vanhoose’s inspirational gospel music reflects her faith. Marlana was discovered as blind when she was weeks old and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two. Her condition is her inspiration for music that will inspire others in their hardships.
