Valentine's Date Ideas in Oxford, OH

Ah, love. It's in the air, as they say. Maybe that's because we're halfway through the week and who doesn't love the weekend? Or maybe it's because Valentine's Day is around the corner!

Either way, we're feelin' the love and want you to feel it, too. So we've created a Valentine's Day itinerary with a few ways for you to enjoy this special day with your special someone right here in town. And because it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to show people you love them, this list is not only gonna be fun but it also won't break the bank. Some things listed here are even going to be free.

Now, go forth! Drink coffee, go ice skating, order delivery! And remember, Oxford loves you!

What better way to start the day than with a cozy mug of local coffee, enjoyed from the comfort of your front porch? (It may be cold out, so make sure you've got the good slippers on.)

Oxford Coffee Company's Love at First Sip blend is available to order online now through Monday, February 15th. (You can choose either shipping or no-contact delivery).

Available in light, medium, or dark roast, this cofffee has notes of decadent milk chocolate, sweet berries, and cream with a silky finish. So basically, it's delicious.

Order yours now. Your Valentine will thank you.

Make sure to follow the Oxford Coffee Company on Facebook for future updates and special offers!

Get Active!

Want to get your steps in? Not afraid of a little cold weather? Then we recommend getting out and active with your Valentine in the afternoon and early evening.

Oxford is well known for its nature trails, and for good reason: we have a lot of 'em! Check out some of our suggestions for Best Winter Hikes, then lace up your boots and hit the trails.

Goggin Ice Center also has some fun opportunities to keep you moving with their Valentine's Day Holiday Skate, taking place Saturday, Feb. 13th and costing only $7.50 per person (with free skate rentals). There will be two sessions available this day, one from 3:30 pm - 4:20 pm and one from 4:40 pm - 5:30 pm.

You can also skate on Valentine's Day (Sunday, Feb. 14) during Goggin's public skate sessions. Admission is $9 with free skate rentals. There will be two sessions available: 3 pm - 3:50 pm and 4:10 pm - 5 pm.

Keep in mind that admission is limited and pre-registration is required for all sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. Face Coverings are required both on and off the ice for your safety and the safety of others.

Get Artsy at You're Fired

Oxford's paint-your-own-pottery studio You're Fired (6 N. Beech St.) is extending their hours on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 so you'll have even more time to perfect your painted pottery with your Valentine!

Studio hours will be 12 pm - 8 pm on both days. Seating will be limited so you're encouraged to email or call ahead and make a reservation: yourefiredoxford@gmail or 513-523-2734.

Walk through the Enchanted Winter

Enchanted Winter at the Oxford Community Arts Center (10 S. College Ave.) continues to light up Oxford this winter. Now through March 21st, you can enjoy interactive installations (such as the hanging poetry exhibit on the front porch), music in the Children's Garden, and lights aplenty. Oh and it's all free!

Once the sun goes down, we recommend grabbing some hot chocolate from uptown (maybe from Kofenya?) and then taking your Valentine's Day date for a slow, romantic walk through the exhibit. New installations are going up all the time, and the entire thing is extremely photo-worthy. So not only will you be making memories, but you'll no doubt have plenty of pics to remember it by.

Stay up to date with happenings at the OCAC by following them on Facebook and Instagram.

We are big supporters of staying warm and snuggly inside and keeping the kitchen clean while ordering delivery. Sorry, but everything about that sentence just sounds amazing, right? And if you've done the other activities on this list than you've probably worked up an appetite, so sit back and let someone else do the cooking!

There are plenty of options for ordering delivery here in town, whether it's through Oxford to You (who delivers for over 20 restaurants in town) or through a local business with their own delivery service, such as Phan Shin or SDS.

So treat your Valentine to candles, fuzzy socks, and a delicious dinner delivered right to your door. We fully endorse this.

Bonus: Wear Red or Pink and Save Money at Birdhouse Antiques

Birdhouse Antiques (114 W. High St.) is filled wall-to-wall with unique antiques, from dolls to furniture to taxidermy. Strolling through the store and seeing everything they have to offer is already something we recommend, and now through Feb. 14 you can also save 20% off anything red or pink in the store if you or your date are also wearing red or pink!

So put on that Miami sweatshirt and head over to Birdhouse Antiques. You never know what you'll find.
