Sweet Things in Oxford

Donuts and ice cream and cookies, oh my! If you have a sweet tooth you just can’t kick, businesses here in Oxford, Ohio have you covered. Some are chains, most are locally owned, and all are experts in all things sweet.

Keep reading to find out our favorite places to get a sugar rush.

Oxford Doughnut Shoppe

Where: 120 S. Locust St.

If you're looking for fresh doughnuts made daily then look no further than the Oxford Doughnut Shoppe. Whether you are into the classics like a chocolate frosted doughnut or if you agree that you’re never too old for colorful sprinkles, you'll find what you're looking for. Plus, it is one of several stops on the Butler County Doughnut Trail. Pick up a passport at the shop!

Spring Street Treats- Celebrates 10 Years

Where: 321 W. Spring St.

Happy 10th Birthday to Spring St. Treats! This is the place to go in Oxford if you're looking for delicious soft-serve that's both lactose-and-gluten-free. Get vanilla, chocolate, or a swirl of both with so many toppings to choose from it would take too long to name them all. They also have seasonal flavors (pumpkin in the fall is a town favorite) as well as special menu items like the Pineapple Whip, the Yummy Gummy Treat, and the Reese's Explosion (our staff favorite!) just to name a few. Order your picks from the Drive-Thru or NEW Walk-Up window. Their location also has a playground for the kids to run off some of that sugar afterward! Open mid- February through mid-November.

Graeter's

Where: 29 W. High St.

Our town has quickly fallen in love with this Cincinnati staple. Good thing it’s right uptown! Graeter’s has a wide range of flavors, both year-round and seasonal. Get a bowl, a cone, or turn your favorite flavor into a milkshake. In addition to ice cream, Graeter's also has plenty of candy and cookies to choose from throughout the store. Take your order to go or stay a while in the spacious seating area. (We recommend sitting by the window overlooking High St. and people watching!)

Insomnia Cookies

Where: 33 E. High St.

Dessert doesn't have to be right after dinner. At Insomnia Cookies uptown, night owls can satisfy their sweet tooth until 3 a.m. If you get your cookies delivered, you can keep track of their status all the way from in the oven to at your doorstep with the Cookie Tracker. Although, nothing beats the smell of fresh baked cookies when you order a cookie (or two) in the store!

Where else?

These aren’t the only delicious places in Oxford. You probably know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but did you know it could also be the sweetest? Head to Patterson’s Cafe (103 W. Spring St.) to try their Oreos and cream pancakes. Or check out Bodega (11 W. High St.), which usually has cookies by the register and cannolis and cake slices in the cases.

Certainly, there are lots of yummy treats that we didn’t mention here so get out there and find your favorites! (Check out Enjoy Oxford's dining page to help you get started.)
