First Year City Hunt

When: Saturday, August 24th, 10:00AM - 12:00PM

Where: Uptown Park (2 East High Street)

It's time to welcome First Year students into the Oxford community with the First Year City Hunt, a FREE scavenger hunt all around uptown Oxford! Join a team of 2 - 4 fellow students and meet uptown anywhere between 10 AM - 12 PM. Whether you're an incoming freshman or a first-year grad student, this scavenger hunt is for YOU. What better way to get acquainted with your new home than to run around looking for the people, places, and things that make Oxford unique?

First, stop by the Enjoy Oxford bike cart (it looks like a little red ice cream cart) in the uptown park to receive your list of clues. Then you'll have until noon to find everything on your list. Make sure to take photos of everything you find! Post your pictures to Instagram using the hashtag #FYTakeover2019.

Once you're done, stop back by the cart uptown and get your prizes in the form of Oxford swag.

Some sample clues:
- find the mayor
- find a Greek Organization brick around the park
- find a business that shares its space with their pets

Happy hunting!

Uptown Farmers Market

When: Tuesdays from 4 PM - 7 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM - 12 PM

Our local farmers market is so popular that it's now taking place twice a week! Every Tuesday the market sets up in the parking lot of TJ Maxx and every Saturday it sets up just behind the Memorial Park in our historic uptown district, at the intersection of Main and High Street. Come enjoy an array of locally grown produce and food products (think baked goods, salsa, jams) as well as handmade decor, jewelry, and more. There are also hot food vendors so you can grab something to eat while you shop.

So pick up some fresh flowers, pet a dog (or two or three), and enjoy our farmers market year-round. Seasonal hours can be found on the official market website here.

Take note: The Farmers Market accepts EBT cards. And thanks to Produce Perks you can get up to $40 for fruits and vegetables for just $20 off your EBT card.
