Farm-to-Table in Oxford, Ohio

My favorite part of the week, hands down, is Saturday morning. Waking up slowly, sipping on some coffee, and walking around the Oxford Farmers market is my preferred way to welcome the weekend with open arms.

The Oxford Farmers Market is not only known for its many vendors offering fresh, seasonal, local foods and artisan goods, but also for welcoming smiles, warm greetings, as well as a way to engage in our close-knit community. Being from the heart of the Midwest, we’re not afraid of a little cold, so fear not, our market is open year round from 9am to noon!

Good coffee, fresh flowers, warm bakery items, farm-to-table produce, plus handmade goods crafted with love not only make up 5 items in my “Top 10 Favorite Things in Life” list, but can also all be found at our beloved local market. If you’re lucky, you’ll even catch some live music or cooking demos during the warmer months.

When I think of Moon Co-Op, I think “locally-sourced food, community contributor, and mouth-watering deli.” I genuinely don’t think it’s ever taken more than three seconds to be welcomed by staff as soon as I walk in the door. A market whose motto is “Enter as strangers and leave as friends” just has to be wonderful…and I’m here to confirm that it is! Butterfields Farm Market offers the quintessential small-town farm market experience. It’s the perfect place to stop for some local goods, flowers, or greenery, and you can even feed a cow or two. In the Fall, this market turns into an Autumnal-wonderland, complete with pumpkins, hayrides, and lots of apple cider.

Open seasonally from late April to early November, Butterfields Farm Market has been supplying our Oxford community with fun goods and good fun since 1980. Delicious, locally-sourced Amish foods are available for purchase, ranging from cheese, butter, jam, bacon, corn meal, honey, as well as baked goods. Whew, is anyone else hungry now?
