The annual Oxford Summer Music Festival Concert Series is the oldest and longest running outdoor concert series in the region. Each summer the sounds of jazz, blues, modern, rock 'n roll and bluegrass entertain all ages at these free outdoor concerts held in Oxford's Uptown Parks. The concerts began many years ago when local musicians gathered every Thursday evening during the warm summer months to provide musical entertainment in the park. As time went by and interest grew, a more formal schedule was planned. By 2010, there was an average of 2,000 people gathering for a fun, family-oriented evening and 2012 celebrates 27 years from what was once a "jam session" to a full-blown concert featuring bands both local and national. So, grab your lawn chair or blanket, pack a picnic basket or choose to dine in one of our many restaurants within walking distance of the parks and come enjoy an evening of fun! No matter if you are a local community member or a visitor to Oxford, we are sure that you will have a great time!
